Meet Mrs. Burkhard
My name is Kirsten Burkhard and I am so excited to be your 5th grade teacher! This year, we will explore and discover Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Together, we will build a strong classroom community where we can share our love of learning!
This is my third year teaching at KIS and my 20th year teaching. Prior to this year, I have taught at the elementary and middle school levels in both traditional and online schools. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Guidance from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Ursuline College. In addition, I obtained a K-12 Reading Endorsement from Notre Dame College. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, taking walks and spending time with husband and two children.
I am thrilled to begin this exciting journey with you! I look forward to seeing you learn, grow and have a fantastic year in 5th grade!
